Why some palm trees don’t live in milder weather

Like most trees palm trees survive better in certain types of weather.Since palm trees are originally from tropical types of climates, they usually thrive in those climates as well.But if you acclimate a palm tree to a milder weather then it can definitely survive. We are going to look at a couple of palm trees that can be acclimated to a milder temperature. 

The first type of palm tree we are going to look at are the foxtail palm tree. These palm trees generally were thought to be unable to survive in milder weather.They were believed they could only survive in a weather that is humid.But some growers who got them acclimated to milder temperatures were eventually able to get them to survive.  Because of that many people are getting introduced to this type of palm tree.  They are a rare palm that has been gaining popularity.

Another type of palm that was thought not to be able to survive in milder temperatures are the coconut palm.Bust just like the foxtail palms some growers were actually able to successfully grow them.Since the more famous coconut palms that do produce coconut were basically only able to survive in the tropics. But they have been thriving once they were able to get them acclimated.  So you are starting to see many homes and gardens having these palm trees in their yard.

Of course with any palm trees for sale the key is making sure the palm tree can survive.How you do that is actually to make sure that they were acclimated to your weather climate.  But generally if you bought it locally it will be used to your type of weather. If this is the case you will get to experience many rare palms not seen before.

So there you have the key reasons that palm trees do not live sometimes. The key is simply making sure that they are acclimated to your weather and they will definitely do great.
