Will a grow light help my perennials?
February 22nd, 2009 | by |jake_n_toby asked:
I moved recently and some of my patio conatiners have perennials that need more light that they will get naturally. Will putting a grow light on them help or are they doomed to grow leggy and die? Mostly viola/violet, and astilbe and some herbs. Any suggestions on buying a grow light, strength etc?

Grow lights are great for starting seeds inside. I’ve never used them on established plants, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t get the job done. Grow lights can be purchased at any hardware or garden store as a single bulb that will screw into any lamp, or as 4-8 ft overhead lights. They’re inexpensive to buy and last forever! Good Luck.
