(I am talking about the tan colored portion)
It would be an added bonus if you could tell me how they got those diagnal lines in there too (I have a theory, but want to see if I am correct)

    Faux texture.It is accomplished by several different techniques but is quite simple to do.Type Faux texture painting into your web search and it should give a bunch of tutorials on how to do this.Hope this helps.
